Africa’s Leading Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Event Organisers Since 2015
Bitcoin Events was founded by Sonya Kuhnel and Theo Sauls in 2014. They are both early adopters of bitcoin and are extremely passionate about the future of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Sonya and Theo saw a need to educate and inform people about the opportunities offered by digital currencies and blockchain technology. In 2015, Bitcoin Events started the Blockchain Africa Conferences to address this need.
Bitcoin Events is the first events company to host world-class bitcoin and blockchain conferences in Africa. To date, we’ve hosted six highly successful blockchain conferences in Cape Town and Johannesburg, and have attracted big names such as Vinny Lingham (well-known South African entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of Gyft and Civic in the US), Brock Pierce (Founder of Block Capital and early adopter of bitcoin in the US), Andreas M. Antonopoulos (author of several bitcoin and Ethereum books, security expert and early adopter of bitcoin in the US), William Frentzen (Federal Prosecutor with the US Attorney’s Office) and Stefan Thomas (CTO of Ripple in the US).
Blockchain Africa Conference
Since 2015, Bitcoin Events’ annual Blockchain Africa Conferences have been the first of their kind in Africa.
They’ve attracted international experts and thought leaders in the blockchain arena. These great minds have shared their insights around blockchain technology’s opportunities and challenges, as well as the latest trends seen around the world. The conferences have also provided a platform for attendees to network with like-minded individuals and learn about some of the most interesting blockchain use cases from a range of innovative companies and start-ups.
Since 2015, these conferences have attracted over 2000 individuals as well as blockchain experts and thought leaders from around the world
Crypto Fest
This is a unique, fun and engaging festival hosted in South Africa since 2019.
The event brings together game changers, thought leaders, innovators, technologists, entrepreneurs, traders, enthusiasts, private and institutional investors, payment providers, cryptocurrency exchanges and companies and individuals looking at how they can integrate cryptocurrencies into their businesses.
The Crypto Fest hosts global speakers who provide insights into the current state of cryptocurrencies, the future, latest trends, products and services in the industry. The event includes sponsored workshops, debates on hotly contested topics, games, exhibitions, competitions and giveaways.
The aim of the event is to accelerate global adoption of cryptocurrencies, forge the future of the cryptocurrency industry and to explore the many opportunities that exist such as in trading, mining, investment and payments.
The event provides attendees with an immersive experience, plenty of engagement with well-known speakers and thought leaders, fantastic networking opportunities and showcase real-world applications on how this technology is being used globally.
