Zindzi Kibiku is one of Africa’s excellent broadcasting journalist. As a communication expert with 7 years of expertise in the industry, her skill set ranges from content creation, moderating, media planning, digital media to planning and implementing communication campaigns.
Previously, as TV news anchor and reporter with Citizen TV, one of the biggest news networks in Kenya, she co-anchored Day Break- a four hour breakfast that highlights the politics of the day, civil society, governance and entrepreneurship. As the only female host on the show, Zindzi would moderate conversations from both the political front and social issues. When she is not on TV Zindzi has her pulse on radio to where she co-host The Drive show on Hot 96. Her moderation skills have seen her guide conversations from Social Media Week, Aga Khan University- Youth Skill Report Launch, political debates, to Goethe Institute to mention a few.
Her vast experience in journalism started at her previous assignment having worked for KTN News – East Africa’s first local 24 hour news channel. At KTN News, she functioned as a producer, reporter and co-anchor for the three hour morning show discussing issues around tech, health, entertainment as well as political conversations.
Zindzi is passionate about women and young people of the continent. She intentionally created a sober platform where youth could have their say. In her role as the host and flag bearer for Youth Café she created a platform for Africa’s youth to highlight what is important to her generation and point out issues from different spectrum in politics, socio-economic as well as portraying individual young talents and businesses. The show was launched during Kenya’s 2017 general election that would see a vast number of youth vote for the first time.
