Rayn Derksen is a blockchain strategist and Web3.0 advocate. She heads up the blockchain division within the Nedbank Retail and Commercial Banking (RCB) business. Rayn is responsible for developing the blockchain strategy, building frameworks, identifying new opportunities and developing use cases that add value to Nedbank clients, optimise processes and unlock additional revenue streams. Rayn has established the first blockchain division within Nedbank and is actively building networks and partnerships within Web3 ecosystems. She has over 10 years of experience consulting across various industries such as insurance, media, telecommunications, hospitality and predominately financial services. Rayn joined the Nedbank team in 2018 and was newly appointed to her current position in 2021. She has a background in strategic advisory, change management, finance, business intelligence, data modelling, application development, data visualisation and process optimisation. Rayn is passionate about people, technology and knowledge sharing. She believes in embracing change and challenging the status quo.
