Co-founder of Innovation City

Kieno is a media veteran, having been part of the commercial media landscape for the past 25 years. He was the host of the Kieno Kammies Show on Cape Talk and has worked on a number of other commercial radio stations across South Africa, this includes hosting the top independent commercial music breakfast show on Jacaranda FM. His international media work includes commentary for the BBC as well as having been contracted as a consultant correspondent for NBC TV News New York and London, with his highlight being the privilege of having worked with US news legend Tom Brokaw.

Today he works with two of South Africa’s top entrepreneurs, and associated with the top innovation hub in Sweden (Epicenter Stockholm).

Kieno is the Co-founder of Innovation City based in Cape Town, along with Stephan Eckbergh the top travel entrepreneur in Africa. Innovation City in Cape Town is South Africa’s first truly international innovation collaboration space and is an invitation-only community of digital start-ups, scale-ups, corporates, intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs, world changers and innovators

Kieno is also Head of Culture for the University of Cape Town’s Online High School.
