Chris Thomas
Head of Digital Assets at Swissquote BankChris has 20 years’ experience in financial markets, entrepreneurship and investing. His first degree, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, launched a career in financial services, specifically capital markets, sales and trading in London and Geneva with banks such as UBS, Societe Generale and BNP Paribas.
Subsequently he completed a #1 ranked Executive Education Global Entrepreneurship program at Babson College (Boston, USA), exposing him to the Silicon Valley, UK and Chinese entrepreneurial ecosystems, expanding his global network, and solidifying his passion for FinTech and innovation.
In recent years, Chris has combined his financial expertise with his passion for entrepreneurship as Head of European Innovation at Fidelity Investments before successfully founding an institutional crypto-asset custodian. Given the expanding institutional interest in crypto-assets, Chris joined Swissquote Bank to head the digital assets proposition. Swissquote is focused on maintaining its position as the number one Swiss bank for crypto-assets and continually growing its offering, including institutional equity certificates for crypto trading.
A serial entrepreneur, his start-up experience includes founding three ventures and consulting on several more in the fields of Digital Currencies, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence & Big Data.
Chris has also held Board roles at the bsi, IFS, and SwapsBall, was Founder of the Young Professionals Group for the BSCC and President of Nyon Toastmasters club. Chris remains active in the European Innovation Ecosystem, mentoring at accelerators and forming connections with some of Europe’s top VC’s and tech startups.
