Brenton Naicker
Principal and Head of Growth at CV VC AfricaBrenton has been a key proponent in bringing blockchain technology and its potential to Africa. He started out as one of the youngest members invited to join IFWG, A SARB initiative to appropriately regulate cryptoassets, as one of only 30 industry stakeholders in South Africa. He has since played an active role, as a member of the South African National Blockchain Alliance (SANBA), Crypto Asset Association of SA (CAASA).
He spent two years leading the African charge for one of the worlds largest Fintech companies – Binance, spearheading their launch and growth in Sub-Saharan Africa and East Africa. During this time helping create and roll out initiatives such as the “Binance Masterclass” series, which reached and educated over 100K Africans in 2020, in addition to initiatives such as the Binance Smartchain Developer bootcamp – training over 1200+ developers in Africa how to build blockchain based applications. During this time he has been often featured as a subject matter expert and speaker in media across the globe and participated as a mentor, judge and guest lecturer at organisations such as SeedStars, CV Labs, UCT Financial Innovation Hub, Global Startup Awards – Africa, GITEX Global and the Paxful backed Africa Blockchain University.
Currently he is a senior member of Africa’s first blockchain exclusive early-stage venture capital fund and accelerator program – providing young entrepreneurs building in the space of blockchain and web 3.0 access to capital and mentorship.
