Anil Hansjee
General Partner at Fabric VenturesAnil Hansjee is General Partner at Fabric Ventures. For the past 19 years, Anil has been dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, especially from the fintech and digital media industries, achieve their dreams with capital, operational support, fundraising and exit advice. He has done this both from within funds (IDG Ventures and Mojo.capital) as well as an executive at Corporates (Google, Modern Times Group Sweden and PayPal). He has been a trusted advisor to 3rd party funds across Europe (EQT Sweden, Creandum Sweden, MCI Poland, Investinor Norway, Seedcamp UK). In his 19 years of investing, he has already invested in over 130 companies, with over 15 “”10x”” returns and 16 unicorns (companies such as Shazam, Tray.io, Tink, PPRO, Wise, iZettle). At PayPal he led the open banking infrastructure initiatives from a strategy, ventures and corporate development perspective including investing in Tink, Modulr and Codat. Most recently he has left PayPal to join Fabric Ventures, a new $130M fund focusing on the Web 3.0/Blockchain space.
He is an active promoter and supporter of the entrepreneurial ecosystems in cities he has lived in: Co-founding Google’s Campus London co-working space for startups, co-founding the Entrepreneurs Group of the British Computer Society and serving on the board of Sweden’s entrepreneurial society SUP-46. From this passion and dedication he was awarded a fellowship of the British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute of IT in the UK, in 2007 and awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Computing, in 2011.
